Description

Aftermarket JB Performance Mercury Verado 450R 2.4L IHI Drive Snout Gasket.  A gasket is required in this area. This gasket is the correct compressed thickness.

Lack of a gasket or use of silicone will cause the following issues:

• Preloading drive snout bearings incorrectly, which leads to early bearing failure.
• Preloading gear side bearing or pushing them out of the pockets, causing rotor and case wear.
• Altering of rotor timing due to incorrect pre-load.
• Noise.
• A noise that sounds like power steering whine, but coming from the supercharger.

Once the damage is done, a rebuild is required to correct the error. A gasket will will not solve the issues above, if they have already occured.
