Limited Service Warranty

Jon Bond Performance • Kossuth County, State of Iowa, USA

To validate and receive coverage under this Limited Warranty, the original purchaser must return a completed Warranty Card to Jon Bond Performance (JBP) within 60 days of the invoice date. Failure to return the warranty card within 60 days will void all warranty eligibility.

1. WHAT IS COVERED AND FOR HOW LONG

JBP warrants to the first retail purchaser of the rebuild service that the parts and/or labor installed by JBP will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months or 12,000 miles (20,000 kilometers), whichever occurs first, beginning on the invoice date (“Warranty Period”).

This is an express, limited service warranty. It applies only to the rebuild services performed by JBP. New superchargers and supercharger kits are warrantied exclusively by their respective manufacturers.

2. THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY

If a failure occurs during the Warranty Period under normal operating conditions due to a defect in JBP’s materials or labor, JBP will, at its sole discretion, either:

  1. Repair the product using new, used, or refurbished replacement parts;
  2. Replace the product; or
  3. Refund an amount not to exceed the original retail price of the rebuild service.

3. WHAT IS NOT COVERED

This limited warranty does not cover damage, defects, or failure resulting directly or indirectly from:

  • Misuse & Racing: Any use for racing purposes, competition, track events, track testing, or applications for which the product was not designed or approved. Any racing use voids this warranty.
  • Installation & Alterations: Improper or incorrectly performed installation; unauthorized repairs; any disassembly of the unit from its original serviced state; or modifications performed by anyone other than JBP.
  • Operational Abuse: Exceeding the manufacturer’s maximum published supercharger RPM (often caused by small pulleys or high engine RPMs); lack of or improper maintenance; or operating with too high or too low of an oil level.
  • Fluids & Contamination: Use of incorrect oil types in the gear case; failing to check oil levels periodically; or damage from contaminated, poor quality, or incorrect fuels. (Note: JBP oil is tinted blue to distinguish it from engine oil).
  • Engine-Related Failures: Engine oil blow-by (an approved oil trap should be used); engine detonation (the leading cause of rotor-to-rotor contact and timing alteration); or excess heat caused by an improperly tuned engine, overheating, or intercooler issues.
  • External & Environmental Damage: Foreign material entering the unit (dirt, debris, gasket material, piston rings, etc.); hot air intake heat damage (air pulled from the engine bay without proper shielding); over-torquing of bolts; excessively long bolts; or excess silicone/gasket-maker pushed into the rotor pack or bolt holes.
  • Force Majeure & Environment: Corrosion from environmental conditions or chemical treatments; fire, accident, theft, or Acts of God.
  • Normal Wear and Tear: Noise, vibration, cosmetic conditions, and natural deterioration caused by normal wear and tear.
  • Vehicle Status: Any service performed on a vehicle that carries a “Salvage,” “Total Loss,” or equivalent title.

4. WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

LIMITATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES: ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS LIMITED STRICTLY TO THE 12-MONTH DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. SOME STATES AND JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

EXCLUSION OF CONSEQUENTIAL AND INCIDENTAL DAMAGES: JBP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY OR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY. SUCH EXCLUSIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: INCONVENIENCE; THE COST OF REMOVAL, INSTALLATION, TRANSPORTATION, OR TOWING; LABOR CHARGES; LOSS OF TIME; LOSS OF PERSONAL OR COMMERCIAL PROPERTY; DESTRUCTION OF OTHER ENGINE COMPONENTS; AND LOSS OF PAY, PROFITS, BUSINESS, OR OPPORTUNITIES. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

JBP neither assumes nor authorizes any other person, employee, or entity to assume for it any other liability or obligation in connection with the services provided. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

5. HOW TO SUBMIT A WARRANTY CLAIM

WARRANTY EVALUATION REQUIRES THE UNIT TO BE RETURNED TO JBP. JBP absolutely does not make warranty decisions, determinations, or commitments via phone, email, or digital media. Any suggestions made by email prior to physical inspection are strictly advisory.

  • Step 1: Schedule Your Request. Schedule a repair date on our website by selecting the “Warranty Request” button. If the unit is within the 12-month warranty period, prior approval is not required to ship it, provided your warranty card is on file.
  • Step 2: Package the Unit. All openings must be securely taped off or protected to prevent debris entry. Pack the unit securely. Failure to protect the unit during shipping may prevent testing and incur extra labor fees, or result in a denial of the claim.
  • Step 3: Shipping Costs. The purchaser is responsible for all shipping, freight, insurance, and handling charges to and from JBP. JBP is not responsible for products lost or damaged in transit.

International Customers:

You must mark the return package as “Made in the USA” and “Temporary Import for Repair.” To prevent improper customs duties, do not declare a customs value of more than $1 USD. The purchaser assumes all risk regarding carrier insurance limits and is entirely responsible for any import or customs fees incurred.

Out-of-Warranty Inspections:

If your unit is past its warranty period, or the purchaser did not submit any warranty documents, but you suspect a product issue related to our rebuild, you may still ship the unit to JBP for a complimentary warranty inspection. These are evaluated strictly on a case-by-case basis at JBP’s sole discretion.

6. DISPUTES & GOVERNING LAW

This limited warranty is non-transferable and terminates immediately upon the sale or transfer of the serviced product to a subsequent owner.

In the event of any dispute arising regarding this warranty or the services provided that cannot be amicably settled, the parties agree that exclusive jurisdiction and venue for legal resolution shall be in Kossuth County, State of Iowa, USA.
